The idea of connecting to random people around the world is a fairly scary notion (look at 4chan), but somehow, when you mention that they’re getting together because of the Wii, it’s like everyone suddenly has their teeth removed and are as warm and loveable as the kids Mr. Rogers used to talk to on his show.
Ok, maybe not, but this tool is still cool. If Nintendo were smart they’d do something like this with google maps and Mii icons and be able to integrate/cross over to the Forecast channel info too. Would be awesome in general if Nintendo implemented Mii-themed web services for mashupers, but I consider that as likely as Mr. Rogers coming back from the grave to challenge George Foreman to a game of Cooking Mama. Hmm, lemme see if either of those two are on here.
