In ‘bizarre’ timing news, WoW hits 8 million right before their new expansion. 2 Million of these are in the US alone, which is more than the population of New Mexico. It’s not easy to verify these numbers as we have to trust Blizzard to be honest about it for the most part, but at least they’ve been pretty good so far. To me the number seems like an underestimate. I’m curious as to the number of unique people who have been a subscriber at any time, currently subscribed or not. Given the amount of people you meet day to day who have played it, I’m almost afraid of that number.

So how long until we see a congressional representative for Azeroth?
