Boooo.
Gen Con So Cal has been canceled.
Where am I going to go to get my ass whooped by 12 year old Yu Gi Oh players now? Oh nevermind.

It’s made Newsweek, and MC Frontalot helping push the movement. It’s flared up in just the past few months, I think the Nerdcore Rising documentary has helped.

My favorite part is when they shredded the disks; any of the 8 million people who play can tell you, you don’t need the disks to play the game. I was also a bit confused that they blacked out the name of the game on the CDs but were fine with saying it on the air.

Ron Gilbert, creator of the Monkey Island game series, has started a Monkey Island-themed World of Warcraft guild.
This is now added to the list of a few other celeb-ish guilds in wow. The Knights of Arcadia, run by the PA guys, as well as the Children of the Korn, run by the lead of Korn. Do you know of any others?

Someone who’s never played an MMO dips into WoW for the first time, ever. An interesting journey blogged out. I don’t know if I would consider my first MMO to be a MUD, or UO, or what, but regardless, it’s been a while, so it’s cool to see someone’s first impressions, from a clean slate.

As a former EB Employee, I can relate to this. We’d like to think that people who work in game retail would know more about everything there is to do with gaming then we do, but most of the time the people that work there don’t. It just makes me smirk, though, can you expect someone who sits in a store all day to know more about the little things of the gaming industry then someone who’s made games?

Ebay intends to remove listings for all virtual items, regardless of type or game title, clamping down on third-party sales of gold and accounts from many popular MMOs.
It seems more of a reasertion of an original rule, but Ebay is going to be cracking down more on virtual item sales now, more then ever. Again, more news of the type around the release of the Burning Crusade expansion. Crackin down is Crackin down. There are plenty of other sites that sell stuff.

Tonight’s show has hit a couple of roadblocks in the names of “Phoenix Wright: Justice For All”, and “Hotel Dusk: Room 215″. I swear that next week will be back to scheduled goodness though, so I’ll see you then.

On January 15th, 2007, The Burning Crusade was unleashed onto the world. I zipped down to the Fountain Valley Fry’s to get in on some of the excitement. There was around 1500 or so people by the end of the night. They did a good job with keeping people entertained, having a local radio station, and some hotdog and lunchcarts nearby. A Taruen even showed up to do a dance, (we found her myspace here!) After waiting in line for a few hours, we were finally let in, and wisked through the store. Tons and tons of developers were there, and I got tons of sigs on my collectors edition of the box.
Overall, it was actually less packed then. Semi-official numbers say there was no more then 2,000 people there, whereas the original game’s launch had 6,000 people at the same Fry’s. I attribute this to the distributed launch; lots of game store chains were having midnight openings, as well as there being 2 other official release parties, one in San Fran, another in Anaheim, and the last and probably most spectacular, at the Universal Citywalk, where the Wii release was held. Mad props to the Cyberangel, who toughed it out for most of the day on her day off.
Only this footage remains of the adventure:

Over time we hope to enrich the world with better software. We hope then it can be adapted to make it more personal so it understands what kind of person you are, and offers you things you might like,
The real question is, what’s the Time Until Cock?
