Second Life meets the real world

Looking through my daily newspaper this morning (The Washington Post, the 6th largest newspaper in the country with over 600,000 readers daily), I came across this comic in the Style section.

On the FastTrack

Now it makes me wonder. How many people actually understood this comic? And how many people looked at it, said “I don’t get it” and moved on. I saw it and was surprised that something I assume is so esoteric that not many people outside the genre would understand. I haven’t extensively been exposed to Second Life, but it’s almost alone the lines of the ‘World of Warquest’ in the comic ‘FoxTrot’. Like an inside joke amongst certain groups.

As the younger generations age, will the line between the internet and real life be blurred?
