Hey GUYS, what’s going on in this radio show?
AnimeUSA is this weekend, in Crystal City, Virginia. What makes cons fun? Why do I keep going to them? What keeps me coming back? We’ll talk about the psyche behind conventions.
COSPLAY. Who can call themselves elite and who are just talking out their asses?
WEEABOO. Pen is one. Nuff said.

THE ANIME EXPO EDITION! We are prepared for the Anime Expo adventures. We discuss some of the stranger things happening this con, like how there’s a Rocky Horror movie showing, as well as an advanced screening of the Transformers movie. We quickly talk about Elite Beat Agents, how fun it is, and how we’re going to be them. Oizys gets some Pokemon Coliseum, Pokemons, let me show you them. If you’re going to AX, let us know!

Again, the author of On the FastTrack mentions Second Life in his strip. Is he a hardcore player? Why does he keep mentioning it when your average comic reader probably doesn’t understand what the hell he’s talking about. I’ll do some investigating to find out! Chances are I won’t find anything out, but we’ll see.
EDIT: HE’S A FURRY. THE ARTIST FOR ON THE FASTTRACK IS A FURRY. WTF.
Penny Arcade Expo is approaching. I’m pretty much ready to go (registration? i’ll get around to it, i swear!). What fun things will we see/hear/experience there? And what is PAX exactly? I find myself having trouble explaining it. When I say “gaming” people just don’t understand what I mean by ‘gaming’. You can’t make it any more simple than that! And I swear I won’t miss my flight home this time. Promise.
Last night/Today was the airing of the last episode of Death Note. POOLS CLOSED! 4chan /a/ celebrates it with a sticky! I also managed to pick up Volume 12 tonight at Borders. WOOBOY. Guess what I’ll be reading.
We’ll also talk about why Sims 2 is so goddamn fun even after like, 4 years.

Anime Expo is coming soon, and they are deploying transvestite robots! Not really, but they are showing the Rocky Horror Picture Show and a advanced screening of the Transformers movie? That’s not very animoo or Japanese? Or is it? Oizys talks at length about Odin Sphere, and a revelation he came up with; it’s River City Ransom on crack. In addition to all the similarities, it also has some pretty engrossing. Plundr, a new DS game uses some awesome wifi hax to make a game based off the trade and pillaging of pirate life. Moving around in reality simulates movement in the game, where your physical location determines where you are in relationship to islands and other pirates. From the makers of Heroclix comes Haloclix. The world is not ready. We visit Supreme Commander again, because of the new patch. We talk about big real-world-influenced maps and how they change the game.

Oh my, We’re certainly getting there in numbers! How long ago did I start?
Remini.. Reminin…. Reminisce on the days of old where all you had for entertainment were Oregon Trail and Number Munchers….
We’ll talk about characters and how they effect us in our everyday lives. No really, they do!
I made an AMV, I’ll post it here later… Because my Death Note fandom has reached a heated peak.

For our 3rd Birthiversary as a show, we talk about cooperative gaming and how it makes for the most memorable experiences. “Sequels only by name” are contrasted to “sequels in spirit”, and a couple examples of this are shown. All in all, we make lots of furry references as we bring out examples like Shining (in the Darkness/Force/Tears/etc), which is many times over a sequel only in name, while games like Etrian Odyssey and Yggdra Union continue in spirit. (Secret/*) of Mana is also dogged for letting go of multiplayer in the new Dawn of Mana, but we also discuss when a single player only game is more appropriate. Many a Red Stripe is consumed in the making of this show and much reminiscing (with sound clips!) and lols.

Holy crap, hahaha
I just finished watching the first episode of the new anime Master of Epic.
It is basically a theatre of MMO (and many WoW-specific) in-jokes that only someone who plays would really get.
Some examples:
- There’s a young girl (played by a boy) named Collon, who has to go get some spider silk for a quest.
- There’s someone yelling out for a rez (’rizu’).
- There’s a knight who kills a dragon to eat dragon steak.
- A bandage that when wrapped, miraculously, all the wounds go away (and the clothes reform).
- When enemies die they disappear and turn into a bag of loot
- Someone’s giant elephant pet blocks the door to one place in town and no one can go through the door.
- Two characters fishing off a pier.
- A public service announcement to beward of great white sharks (suck my diiiiiiick) when fishing
- There’s a tiny warlock girl who is hungry so she eats her bat-summon (it’s described as a sacrifice move that regains hp and mana) - but it’s apparently terrifying to watch.
- A bunch of emotes are shown and then explained (including dance, cheer, etc) including the message bubbles above that says “boss dances”
- Someone needs seaweed for a quest they’re on and they have to go to another area for it (their quest is to make norimaki, because they’re a chef).
- “but if we get defeated that’s it. Two of our items will be taken away” (by the other faction)
- A five-color all girl gnome sentai team saves two characters from being ganked/robbed (one of them turns into a feral-type form to do this - gnome druids?) …(anyone want to form a waragecha five guild?)
- A big mouse is described as ‘easy for beginners to hunt’
Glad to see we’re way past the time when this can’t be considered ‘mainstream entertainment’. Most of it isn’t really even that ‘funny’, though I am curious as to how many years until the ’situation comedy’ distinctions wear off and it just becomes another sitcom genre like ‘guy with only women in family/household’.
