Last night I was at Wumpskate and someone asked me for an EGR flyer. Turns out it was Cory of Neoramen and Xenocanon fame!
We talked a lot about old video games, TG-16, games with awesome sound, Arcade Infinity, and Herzog Zwei (ya!). I was a fan of Neoramen back when it was Pockybot - it’s always awesome to meet up with people from The Internets. At the same time, however, it’s a bit like… “what are you doing here in the real world?”

A friend of mine found this great article on MSN about Chiptune and “Overstimulated Sense” artwork (Pokemon Seizure Funtime). The video has a good beat and you can dance to it. The second picture in the article looks a bit like Atma Weapon from FFVI don’t you think? Also, page 6: “The GIF Show” - best idea for a gallery ever.

Awesome stuff; he distributed this music on NES carts, so you can play them in your Nintendos.

While this flash is skimp on content, it makes up for it in overwhelming style. A simple interactive flash walkthrough showing how LEGO bricks are made in the factory complete with videos, cool chiptune background music, and robot noises. Definitely worth 60 seconds of your time if you like LEGOs.

There’s a really cool interview with YMCK (yay!) on VH1 Game Break. (Link after the break)
zug: oh QQ I hope chiptunes stays underground so I can have a subculture to cling to
I think chiptune will get big, but not huge-big. Maybe gothtopic big at apex. There will only be 1 ‘first computer synthesis’ sound, no matter how technology progresses, and only one ‘first video games ever’ concept around in culture. So even in the far-far future retro electro ‘back to the roots’ will be square and sine waves.
